    King Saud University, in the process of transformation into an independent, academic institution, seeks to achieve the vision and ambition of an outstanding leadership to become a globally, competitive university. The ecosystem of post graduate programs, research and innovation plays a major role in achieving the university’s goals within its strategic framework.

In light of reconstructing and updating the graduate studies regulations at the university, efforts have been made to maximize the benefit of graduate studies’ programs in cooperation with international universities in the aim of creating opportunities to improve human capabilities and providing high-quality academic options to obtain a PHD degree that support the university’s transformation plan. Furthermore, contributing to achieving the goals of the executive programs of the vision. And an alternative program of full scholarship is offered in the aim of obtaining a PHD degree in cooperation with international, prestigious universities that ensure a high-quality academic output and achieving high level research outcome equivalent to the quality of certified programs in international universities.

    External Joint Supervision Program was established over ten years ago with the aim of empowering lecturers to achieve their ambitions and utilize their skills in completing doctoral studies, as well as contributing to the development of the educational process at academic departments. EJSP seeks to fully utilize of activated graduate studies programs at international, prestigious universities that allow the joint supervision in research phase and enable the enrollee to spend time between the external university and KSU governed by an educational plan supervised by both the internal and external supervisors in cooperation with the enrollee.

    Deanship of Graduate Studies seeks to optimize from the program and improve its strategy. Furthermore, many agreements are signed with highly ranked universities to create joint degree programs in different majors.

    The program had proven to be highly efficient since its inception, based on the outstanding academic capabilities of King Saud University with an expertise in supervising doctorial thesis. In addition, the university offers an advanced facility, resources for knowledge and research laboratories.

    The program has a good reputation that’s why it becomes a great opportunity for scholarship with changes and improvements in the education system at the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. 

    In conclusion, we look forward to support teaching assistants and lecturers and provide options that ensure the development of human capabilities in light of the university’s transformation, its independence, and international competition in graduate studies, research and innovation ecosystem.
