Brief About EJSP  

 

   King Saud University plays a significant role -since its inception- in the holistic and integrated development of the society. This is through its multiple duties which are shown in providing a number of services, such as personnel training,  scientific research, as well as disseminating of culture, preparation of specialists and human capital development. 

 

King Saud University has developed many strategic plans to meet these requirements of which the most significant are the strategic plans that focus on preparing highly qualified faculty members. The university has adopted the idea of preparing a cadre of faculty members by recruitment of many teaching assistants and lecturers whether males or females, and attracting outstanding faculty, as well as providing the opportunity of scholarship abroad in the aim of obtaining doctoral degrees. 

While many faculty members find a great opportunity to complete postgraduate studies at their majors, some obstacles have emerged for some lecturers in scholarship abroad which leads to difficulties in completing their studies for various reasons. Thus, a method should be found to enable the university of improving lecturers and teaching assistants, taking their circumstances into account.  

 

Based on his royal highness the deputy prime minister, the royal decree No. 5/ B/16918 dated 25/11/1407 H aimed at “The imperative was to find ways that can substitute the scholarship abroad for the female faculty members to complete postgraduate studies in Saudi Arabia”. His excellency, president of King Saud University dictated a study to find other ways and channels to give the opportunity of scholarship abroad for lecturers and teaching assistants and obtaining doctorate degree from authorized, international universities under programs and curriculums that take into account the appropriate sabbatical studies for studying reasons.  Accordingly, his excellency KSU president issued a resolution No. 2929000651 dated 14/6/1429 H which included the creation of standing committee of External Joint Supervision Program for lecturers and teaching assistants at King Saud University. Afterwards, his excellency the president of king Saud university dictated a re-formation of the standing committee under resolution No. 2/20/118084 dated 23/4/1430 H. 

 

As such, King Saud University represented by EJSP administration and the standing committee of EJSP decided to take an advantage of the existing programs in many world prestigious universities at developed countries, which enable lecturers and teaching assistants to spend their time between KSU and the external university with ape rant rules and regulations that guarantee quality and performance to complete postgraduate studies. Furthermore, EJSP is a great opportunity for many lecturers and teaching assistants to achieve academic, scientific and financial benefits for various parts and it participates in improving the cadre of faculty members at various aspects.
